Danny Larsen

Who brought you into snowboarding? Have you given him any thanks for his influence?

Thomas Tovang brought me into shredding, he's without a doubt the one that loves snowboarding most of all my friends. He's helping people out with shredding all the time, and shitloads of people should thank him all the time for all the effort he puts in to making sure people are having fun riding. Thanks Thomas!

Who was your local hero?

Frode Sandbech, Espen Arvesen, Daniel Franck and Terje Håkonsen. Terje and Daniel are not exactly local, but Norway is a small contry, everyone's local.

Where and when was your first snowboardpic published? What trick was it? did you land it?

I had two methods in the same issue of the Norwegian mag Playboard. Yes they were landed, and yes they were badassly tweaked like there was no tomorrow.

Where was your first video appearence with what music(local snowboardmovie...)?

I had some shots in a Norwegian film called Debut by Siesta production. Was some sort of mix part to a song by Manu Chao I think.

How did you get your first sponsor?

Started to ride for a shop because the daughter of the owner thought I was good or something like that. Don't really remember all the details, but I remember being stoked out of my mind. I couldn't believe that I actually was getting boards for free.

Whould you still ride as much as you can, if noone would support you (no sponsors, no filmers and photographers) ?

I would deffinitely try, not sure if it would be as easy to get to all the rad spots, but I guess it would have been a lot of night time riding in the local resorts.

What is your favourite moment on the mountain?

Right before dropping in on some feature, when you still have no idea how it will work and you just have to try to figure it out on the way down. I guess that's also the biggest difference from park riding for me and the reason why I love riding BC.

What is the worst time during the time on the mountain?

Hiking back from some spot after a long day of riding a spot that doesn't work. You're tired like a 5-day worn sock and pissed off.  Then it's pretty fucking horrible to hike out in knee deep powder.

How important is the time on the mountain for you?

I have no idea, important?

How important is music for you on a snowboardmovie?

Important like hell.

Favourite videopart, ever:

Louie Fountain and Scotty Wittlake in a Robotfood film that i don't remember the name of, maybe it was Lame. They ride to Should I stay or should I go by the Clash.

It just looks like they're having fun and it's a killer song.. Doesn't take more.

Give me your percentage of importance of the following factors to go snowboarding:

Beeing in the nature: 0,666%

Having a good time with your friends: 99,333%
Doing your job: 99%

Does that ad up?

I'm having a good time with friends when I'm doing my job.

How did you get in contact with the PiRATE project?

By praying to the goat god of Kvitngrafn. I sacrified to toes and 2 ounces of milk mixed with dust from a grave from 1666.

How important is it for you to be a part of it?

Like really, y'know?
