Worked on this QP in Vail, Colorado for two days. Travis Parker and Ali Goulet showed up to shred. I installed a roll of Fuji Provia 100 in the Ricoh, sat on the lip for the wide angle and snapped a tail grab to fakie image of Travis. I understood the composition, but was completely clueless on how the film would react. I got lucky ! Stick Magazine ran the shot in their gallery, full page.
Why do you shoot digi?
Because the cameras are really good now (Mark III, Leica M8). I wasn’t very fond of the early digital SLR camera bodies.
Why did I shoot analog?
There will never be a better time in photography than when it was 100% analog.
What medium do you like better and why?
I loved all the techniques and tricks with various films, but slowly the companies stopped producing the film stock(s) I used most. That was a major contributor to why I switched to 100% digital. I have love for both mediums.
How did you get into taking fotos?
Being inspired by skateboard magazines and the photographers. Then it just so happened Technine needed a photographer, so I bought a camera (1997).
What are the 3 best and worst things happening to you by being a fotografer?
Best: Travel, Documentation of Snowboarding, Creative Freedom
Worst: Travel, Injury, Time away from family
