Marco Feichtner

Who brought you into snowboarding? Have you given him any thanks for his influence?

A long time ago I saw it somewhere – therefore, I just wanted to try it. One year later I bought all the stuff I needed and so it started.

Who was your local hero?

Eric Themel was one of the local heroes when it all started and now I am stoked that we are filming together.

Where and when was your first snowboardpic published? What trick was it? Did you land it?

My first picture was in the MBM in 2002 – a really small pic in a story (BS Rodeo) but I didn’t land it. But it was great.

Where was your first video appearence with what music(local snowboardmovie...)?

A bunch of friends made a video for the first FilmUp. I had a part in “StormSquad No. 1” with the music of Dropkick Murphys – Amazing Grace.

How did you get your first sponsor?

My friend Ludschi helped me to get my first sponsor. It was a shop sponsoring from Hot Shop – now called Sajas. I am still a Sajas-Team Rider. Big up to Ludschi.

Would you still ride as much as you can, if no one would support you (no sponsors, no filmers and photographers) ?

For sure I would go boarding any free minute. But it would not have been possible for me to go snowboarding all over the world, because without my sponsors I would not have the time and money.

What is your favourite moment on the mountain?

Blue bird and pow pow…

What is the worst time during the time on the mountain?

bad weather and icy snow

How important is the time on the mountain for you?

Like Frank Sinatra sang – That’s Life

How important is music for you on a snowboardmovie?

Without music the movie gets boring – therefore, music is really important. Music supports the picture. The music should reveal something about the Rider’s personality.

Favourite videopart, ever:

I have seen so many good videoparts in the last years – it would not be fair to pick one out.

why?

that’s the way it is

Give me your percentage of importance of the following factors to go snowboarding:

Beeing in the nature:    35 %
Having a good time with your friends:    40 %
Doing your job:    25 %

How did you get in contact with the PiRATE project?

On my first Road Trip to Sweden we started the Pirate Invasion.

How important is it for you to be a part of it?

It is super important to be part of the Pirate Project for me because all of the Pirates have become really good friends of mine.
