Who brought you into snowboarding? Have you given him any thanks for his influence?

I don't really had anybody that brought me into snowboarding...i just remember that i saw a couple shots of a guy on a snowboard on TV and knew right away that i needed to try this thing as soon as possible! But i guess i can't really say thanks to my TV, right?

Who was your local hero?

I would say Markus Keller...but that doesn't really count as a local hero i guess, since he's from a total different part of switzerland, still we kind of grew up riding together.

Where and when was your first snowboardpic published? What trick was it? did you land it?

My first published photo was printed by Pleasure Snowboard Magazine and would be a Fs Boardslide on a park rail in Engelberg. I think that was around 2003.

Where was your first video appearence with what music(local snowboardmovie...)?

Me and my friends from the swiss twofour crew started filming each other back in 02/03, the result was a movie called "24 captured"! It was so much fun to just film with my buddies everyday and in the end i even got first part, so i was stoked for sure! The song i choose back then was Stop Bitin by Abstract Rude...don't ask me why!

How did you get your first sponsor?

I started doing some small contests in the area where i grew up and then one day in Savognin after this pipe contest the swiss rep for Ride Snowboards came up to me and asked me if i would be stoked to get some stuff from him...a couple weeks later i got my first box with sponsored stuff!

Would you still ride as much as you can, if no one would support you (no sponsors, no filmers and photographers) ?

Of course! I would maybe not be able to travel that much anymore but i would for sure go up to my local mountain everyday i could and just have fun with my friends!

What is your favourite moment on the mountain?

Hard to tell...but i would say it's the last run of the day, cruising down to the parking lot with my friends. Just enjoying the last turns of the day.

What is the worst time during the time on the mountain?

There's not really a lot of bad moments on the mountain for me, but recently we had to dig somebody out of a avalanche and i for sure wasn't stoked on that! That was a big reality check for me...never fuck around with avalanches!

How important is the time on the mountain for you?

It's something that never gets old! It's the time when you finally can forget about all your problems for a couple hours and just enjoy life!

How important is music for you on a snowboardmovie?

I think it's almost the most important thing besides the riding of course, you can destroy a whole part if you pick the wrong song! You need tunes that fit the riding style of your riders and give the movie a nice flow to watch it from start to the end.

Favourite videopart, ever:

hard to tell...what about nicolas müller in futureproof?!

Why?

just because of the fact how he rides the mountains and plays with the terrain in front of him.

Give me your percentage of importance of the following factors to go snowboarding:

Beeing in the nature: 33%
Having a good time with your friends: 34%
Doing your job: 33%

How did you get in contact with the PiRATE project?

Over the last couple years i began to meet more and more people of the crew somewhere through snowboarding, so after a while it was a project with a lot of my friends involved and then one day Basti just called me to asked if i would be stoked to film with them...and of course i was!

How important is it for you to be a part of it?

It's just my first year this year but i really like the good vibes between the people and how stoked everybody is on snowboarding! I had some of my best days on a snowboard this year and that was because i was filming with the PIRATES...i'm a proud pirate for sure! AAAARRRHHHHH!!!
