Carlos is back
BACK IN TIROL. Carlos Blanchard.
- Its saturday 21st of novomber, woke up some hours ago, its 11 and its sunny outside. I look through my window and i can see the city of Innsbruck again, its was a long time since i could do that last time. I left the alps 3 months ago, and after some here and there travelling i came back last week. Feels good i have to say.
- When i first thought of spending the summer here, the main reason was to start with some german lessons, i did that, sure, got a course last july for 3 weeks, i think it worked a bit, I'm proud i can speak a few words now, it's a bit weird for me to speak german, difficult for sure, and funny for my friends i guess, but thats all good.
In some months here, i got to realize more and more how i like this place, after the winter travelling, its was good for me to stay here for some weeks, taking it more easy, working on my things, hanging with friends and also biking a lot! So all in all life is good here in summer. But the spanish call came, end of august, so i had to make my move down there, this time no big deal i thought, i'll just take some stuff with me, should be fine, spend some weeks there and then back, bla bla bla, i packed my car like a gipsy, once again, and drove the two days that separate tirol from my loved local mountain in the north of Spain.
- There i got to see family and friends, it was really nice, also, of course, i kept on the two wheels mission, and biking was a must, loved the mountains there, and i got to do some cool freeride stuff with my friends. I basically stayed there for 3 weeks non stop activity, biking hiking, biking, hiking, super stoked! After that, it was time to go to the city, hanged in my hometown for a few days, visited Madrid shortly, just the airport actually.... and went back to the mountains. By that time i was also getting prepared my trip to Nepal, which happened this last month of october.
- So once things were done back in Spain, the deadline for our flight to Nepal came, 28th of September, there we go!. This trip was an idea of one of the girls i travelled with, Karla, and since i think that, most of the times, plans with friends are just that, ideas, and never happening, i just told her that just for that reason i was going to make it. And that was it, a five weeks trip to the Himalayas was on!.
- As you can imagine, that's been totally a great thing, a highlight and the main reason why i left Innsbruck this last months.
- Our plan was to go trekking, so much into hiking i was, and so they were, so the motivation was high, almost as high as the mountains we were going to see in our time there. Nepal, situated between India and China, well, Tibet.... is a country in which mountain tourism plays a big role in it's economy. From big mountain expeditions to all kind of treks, people travel there to get to see and experience the magic of the Himalayas, and we were no exception.
- It was not my first time there, but yes my first time on my own. Our main thing this time was to get to travel around and hike totally freestyle, no guide or porters needed we said, and it was totaly fine, totally a great experience and something that i'll strongly recomend to somebody that loves the mountains, and that can apreciate the magic of looking at some of the highest and most beautiful peaks in the world.
- So once Nepal was done, with all the things that were seen and lived during those weeks there, it was time to go back to Europe, once again, same process, first Spain for short time, gipsy car packed and drove back to Innsbruck, where, as i said, here i am now, looking through my window and enjoying the sunny morning once again.
- Hope you are all doing good out there, see you next time!
