Norway with Schnipfl

Before I started my trip to Norway I thought, another long three weeks in a cold and rainy country. But as danny Larsen picked me up at the airport in oslo he welcomed me with the words “welcome to sunshine state” and that was true!
25 degrees and sunshine! What a surprise.

On the second day in Viking country, on our way to röldal the weather turned into how it is normally. Heavy rainfall, grey and a mystical landscape.

But this should be almost the only day on our trip with bad weather!

In röldal we met eirik haugo and had a couple of good session in dannys favorite area.
After a few days there and a nice ski extreme contest party we moved on to folgefona.

we had a nice flat next to the campside. and it was the beginning of the summerseason, and there were not that many people, exept us.

Jocki koeffler and hannes metzler also arrived from austria on that day.
So we had the whole crew together.

The road up to the glacier was opened a couple of days before we arrived. it was
Really impressive how much snow they had. We drove through three to four meter snowwalls on the way up.
To find good spots was very easy cause you can check out the area while you drive up.
With a little walk from the street you be at your filming location.
The sessions and the weather in folgefona were great. Every rider got tricks so we had a really good time there!

After five days there we took the ferry from jondal to törvikbygd and drove to eiriks home town, voss city.
On the way to voss the landscape is unbelievable. High mountains with steep walls ending straight into the fjords and 300 meter high waterfalls everywhere.

In voss we moved into eiriks parents utleige (hostel), of course with internet connection and a big living room.
One of eiriks friends ?matti? …….. was our local guide and brought us to already build jumps in the backcountry so we had a very productive time there.

Foodwise Norway isn’t one of my favourite countries.
Most of the time we had pizza grandiosa, pasta, pölse and kebab.
The new thing was that there were people who had heavy streetfights in the night about one kebab. Damn Dorfprolet Vikings!

Three days before I left home carlos blanchard our photographer in spe arrived in voss. Maybe a little bit to late cause then the weather turned into grey and rainy,
And it was not possible to shoot again on the mountain.

But I have to say all in all it was one of my favourite trips this season and I was really stoked about it. So hopefully we see Norway next year from the same good side as this time.
