The Pirates were hollering for a Park Session in Italy. Val Senales is a Glacier resorts on the boarder of the Austrian and Southern Tyrolian Alps. Although the Resort was closed and only workers had access to the mountain we got invited there. Flo set up a shoot to gather some final footage for the Pirates new project going to be called „overseas“.
The mission behind this shoot was to film the big Parkjump with a Paraglider. „Adler“ the pilot and Björn „Shart“weger (hehe that’s an insider story..), Josh "american dream" Sherman, Tyler "2012" Chorlton, Mone „onefoot“ Monsberger plus the kid Teo „Talma“ from finland was there to complete this mission. Staying in the nearby lodge „Schöne Aussicht“ at 3000m above sealevel made it easy for us to session the park late.
The Park offered multiple features that were in great shape. Thanks to Andi and Alex who also cooked up a mean BBQ for us in the chill area. On the third day we finally got to film with the Paraglider. At the end of the day I had gotten the offer to fly over to the lodge with „Adler“. I little bit nervous taking his offer I found myself hanging underneath a kite loosing ground and floating through the air.
Never have I done this always sceptical from hearing about gliders crash. Anyway a truly great feeling and quiet plus the view was increadible. Unfortunately the next day the wind changed coming from a different direction making it impossible to continue filming with the glider. Mone and Me decided to go scope the lower Glacier for „filmable“ features. Hiking around with the sun beating down on our heads made me feel a bit dizzy after a while. Drinking a lot of water, wearing sun- and a faceprotection was a must. Until home I didn’t realize how bad my goggle tan has gotten during the last couple days.
