the start of a good year?

the start of a good year?

Posted by Tyler Chorlton about 2 years ago.

After some new year hangovers and serious digestion sessions a bunch of us regrouped in Innsbruck for the first trip of the year.

We searched online for the snow and it seemed that Italy was getting pummeled! So we decided on Madonna di Campiglio.

Once we had all pulled out our ace cards we had accommodation and lift passes sorted and we were on our way!

Flo and Clem filming, Howze and our local Pirate of the week from Entry magazine Tazz shooting, myself, Bjorn and Fichtl was the crew.

Things were looking good! The first few days we cruised around scoping the area and playing around on small things getting those precious filler shots.

On the third day we decided to check out the other side of the mountain and found the most beautiful bowl just above the resort about 20 minutes hike away. We spent a few hours up there in the fog shaping up a few jumps and trying to get a good look at the terrain then out of nowhere came the sun!

Fichtl and I spotted a natural wind lip with a nice looking landing. Stoked...?

Now this is where the trouble started...  After eating shit a couple of times and doing some serious window shopping, for the clouds had now returned, we realized we must have been smoking crack or something because we were trying to land down in the ubber flat to make it of 'standard' size... Next we were completely in the fog and there was no sign the weather was gonna turn out good but it was ok, we had another kicker to hit the next day when the clouds would leave again... Or not...

As we got back to the piste we were in for a big fat surprise!!!

Stay tuned for the second part of this blog  - coming soon!
